Fresh Out Of The Gym: Ab Exercises You’ve Probably Never Tried

People are constantly looking for new workouts that will sculpt their body like a Greek god’s statue. Well, we’ve got great news! These ab exercises are coming straight from the hot gym oven, and they will surely get you closer to your goal figure.

The Medicine Ball Slam

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, hold a medicine ball with both hands, and brace your abs. Reach with your hands overhead and back, while your elbows are almost locked. When you feel a stretch in your abs, throw the ball hard on the floor and catch it on rebound.

The Band Pallof Press

Find a sturdy object and attach a band to it at chest level, grasp the free end of the band with one hand over the other and step away from the anchor point.

This way you will put tension on the band. Turn perpendicular to the anchor point and extend your arms in front of you. Make sure that your feet are at shoulder width apart. As the band tries to twist you toward it, bring your hands back to your chest, press again, and resist the twisting.

The Barbell Straight-Leg Situp

Lie on the floor holding an empty or lightly loaded bar over your chest (as you would in the top of a bench press). Extend your legs on the floor in front of you and perform a sit-up. Raise your torso until it’s vertical, while keeping the bar over your head. The bar is supposed to drift back to an overhead press position at the top of the sit-up.

The Suspension Trainer Sprinter

Place your feet in the foot cradles of the trainer and get into the pushup position. Keep your hands on the floor, drive one knee to your chest and keep the other leg extended. Then drive the opposite leg to your chest while extending the other one back. The goal is to look like your running in place.
