As you might know, almost all the strength you posses comes directly from your core.

That being said, it’s easy to comprehend why core exercises are so important and why exercising your core is so damn hard.

But fear not, as we bring you the perfect exercise that will strengthen your core in no time. Grab a band, find a pole, and muster a whole lot of will, because this move will either make you or brake you!

Similar, But Very Different

The philosophy behind the standing crunch is very alike that of crunches and deadlifts. However, it’s also quite different – not only will your abs grow and pop out, but you will also gain an immense amount of core strength.

Here are the steps:

  1. Throw a band over a vertical pole or any other steady object and hold its ends in each hand.
  2. Stand with your feet at shoulder width and turn away from the pole, placing the band’s ends at your chest.
  3. Squeeze your abs and crunch your torso downwards, stretching the band in the process.
  4. Without moving your lower body, return to the starting position.
  5. Do 4 sets of 6-8 reps.
