1. Crossfit Can Be Dangerous
As you probably already know, weightlifting demands that you give your best at the last rep of that last set in order to boost your muscle gain. But when it comes to crossfit, it’s a whole different story.
When you’re doing crossfit exercises, you are constantly at the end of your figurative rope. You’ll always need:
- More strength
- More endurance
- To constantly push your limits
This can take quite a toll on your body and health.
2. It Might Not Be For You
Everyone can lift weights, whether by themselves or with a gym buddy. But if you want to do crossfit, you’ll have to join the community.
It’s not that it’s bad, but not all of us want to have someone continuously pushing us to do better and to set new records.
3. Crossfit Is Insanely Strict
As we’ve said before, weightlifting can be done at any place, at any time and with whomever you like. Crossfit, on the other hand, doesn’t allow such freedom.
Doing crossfit exercises forbids:
- Free choices of exercises
- Subjective rest times
- Chatting with your gym buddies
- Doing things at your own pace
We are not all wired that way.
4. Too Short
Nobody wants to pay a full monthly gym membership in order to work out for only 20 minutes every other day, right? Well, as far as crossfit goes, that’s exactly the case.
Since crossfit workouts are so intense and serious, they can’t be performed for more than half an hour per session.
